Book your place on our next Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) for Sport Jiu Jitsu Course starting on Monday April 15th and will run for 6 weeks every Mon 6pm, Tue 8pm, Thu 8pm & Sat 11am. (Train once per week or all four sessions, It’s up to you!). This is a great opportunity to start training in BJJ, which many recognise as one of the most effective martial arts in the world.
What is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu?
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art based on grappling techniques. The aim of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is to control and subdue a larger and stronger opponent through the use of superior techniques, leverage, and body mechanics. With an emphasis on grappling rather than striking, students are able to practice with varying levels of intensity, developing important skills that are often neglected in martial arts focused on striking.
What will you Learn?
The program is designed to prepare students for both self-defence, and sport Jiu Jitsu practice while at the same time improving cardiovascular endurance, balance, and coordination. The fundamental program is designed for anyone, male or female, age (16 and over). Some of things you will learn;
- How to apply the powerful skills of Jiu Jitsu
- How to escape bad positions e.g. Headlock, bear hug, mount, etc…
- How to throw an opponent.
- How to control your opponent through positional dominance
- How to submit your opponent. (applying a submission hold i,e. choke, armlock)
